North Ethiopia Historic and Nature Tours

 

Day One:

Get to Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa. After arriving in at the airport, head to the hotel. Spend the night in Addis Ababa.

 

Day Two:

A tour of Addis Ababa's city. See the Trinity Cathedral Church, the National Museum, the Ethnographic Museum, and in the late afternoon, take a trip up Entoto Mountain to get an overview of Addis Abeba. Spend the night in Addis Ababa.

 

Day Three:

Take a plane to Bahirdar. Drive (30 km) to the Blue Nile waterfalls the same day. See the Tis Abay Falls, the Nile River's gorges, and take a quick stroll around the river. Stay the night in Bahirdar.

 

Day Four: 

A lake Tana boat trip. See the hippopotamus animals around the lake, as well as the monasteries situated on the islands of Lake Tana, the splitout of the Blue Nile River. Stay the night in Bahirdar.

 

Day Five: 

Travel by car to Gondar. Make stops at Guzara Palace and Awuramba Community Village on the way to Gondar. Spend the night in Gondar.

 

Day Six:

 Cultural and historical excursions throughout Gondar. See the Debrebirihan Selassie Historic Churches, the Fasiledes Swimming Pools, the Jewish Villages of Weleka, and the Royal Enclosures of Emperor Fasiledes and His Successors. Spend the night in Gondar.

 

Day Seven:

Travel to the National Park of the Simien Mountains. You will witness the Gelada Monkey, one of the indigenous wild animals in the national park, after a two-hour hike on the same day. At Simien Mountains, spend the night.

 

Day Eight:

After making your way to Sankaber Camp, you can travel to Chennek to view the Capra Walia Ibex, then after a two-hour climb to the Jinbahir waterfalls.the most impressive native wildlife species found in the national park. At Simien Mountains, stay the night.

 

Day Nine:

Gondar Airport by car in the morning, then take a flight to Lalibela. After arriving, travel 42 km to Yimrihane Kiristos Rock Hewn Churches. Those are the first rock-hewn churches in Lalibela's history. Stay the night in Lalibela.

 

Day Ten:

Visit the Lalibela Rock-Hewn Churches.  on Lalibela town has eleven rock-hewn churches, and visiting them all will require a whole day. Stay the night in Lalibela.

 

Day Eleven: 

Take a plane to Axum. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival, then spend the same day visiting the St. Mary Tsion Churches, the Archaeological Museum, and the Stelae of Axum. Spend the night at Axum.

 

Day Twelve: 

Travel to Hawzen and make a stop at the Yeha Temple along route. Climb up the Abune Yemata Mountains in the afternoon to see the Tigrean Rock Hewn Churches. Spend the night at Hawzen.

 

Day Thirteen: 

Ascend Korkur Mariam Mountain and explore the historic rock-hewn churches situated there. Drive by Wukro's Al Negash Mosque on your journey to Mekele in the afternoon. There is a connection between the mosque and Muslim history. Spend the night at Mekele.

 

Day Fourteen:

Drive to Danakil Depression on. which is both the world's hottest and lowest point. You will take a trip to the salt sea in the evening to see the region's breathtaking sunset. Stay the night in Danakil. 

 

Day Fifteen: 

Drive over the slat lake in the morning to observe various minerals, then go to the salt mountains to observe the caravan traders. Drive back to Mekele in the afternoon. Spend the night at Mekele. 

 

Day Sixteen :

Journey to Addis, where the journey will conclude in Addis Ababa.
