 8 - Day  Southern Ethiopia Itinerary

Day One: City tour in Addis Ababa

Arrival in Addis Ababa Upon landing, you will meet our team and be transferred to your hotel. After some rest, we will begin a tour of Addis Ababa with a drive to Entoto Mountain, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Following that, we will visit the National Museum, where you can see the fossil of the hominid "Lucy." Next, we will visit the Ethnographic Museum, which was once the palace of Emperor Haile Selassie. To conclude the day, we will visit Merkato, the largest market in East Africa. Overnight: Overnight  Addis Ababa, 

Day Two: Fly to Jinka

In the morning, you will fly to Jinka. On this day, you will visit the Tribal Museum. In the late afternoon, you will visit the Ari Tribe, known for their traditional metalwork and stone crafts. Overnight: Jinka.

Day Three: drive to Mursi - and then drive to Turmi

Jinka We will set off early in the morning for a drive to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi Village. The Mursi are undoubtedly the most famous residents of the Omo Valley, and they are a unique group of goat herders known for their distinctive lip plates. Mursi women wear round clay plates on their lower lip, with larger plates increasing their value when they marry. After returning from the Mursi Tribe, we will have lunch and take a short rest. Next, we will drive to Turmi via Key Afer. On the way to Turmi, we will stop at Key Afer to visit the Bana Tribe, where young children showcase their talent for walking on sticks, easily balancing on two tall poles. Afterward, we will continue our drive to Turmi. In the late evening, you will visit the Hamer Tribe, where you will see their social structures, traditional clothing, cultural activities, and their unique dance style known as the Evangadi Dance. Overnight: Turmi.

Day Four: Drive to Dassanech and Karo 

In the morning, we will drive to Omo-Rate to visit the Dassanech Tribe. At Omo-Rate, we will cross the Omo River using a traditional canone, and then we will visit one of the Dassanech villages. They are pure nomads living along the Omo River basin. In the afternoon, we will return to Turmi for lunch. After lunch, we will drive to visit the Karo Tribe and observe their cultural activities. They also live along the Omo River, both men and women adorning their bodies with different colors of clay. In the evening, we will return to Turmi. Overnight: Turmi.

Day Five: Konso and Arbaminch

In the morning, we will drive to Arbaminch. On the way, we will stop at Konso, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its cultural landscape. In Konso, you will see their ancient thatched structures, which showcase their excellent stonework, as well as natural pillars known as the "New York Tower." In the afternoon, we will continue driving to Arbaminch. Overnight: Arbaminch.

Day Six: visit Lake Chamo and Dorze Village

In the morning, we will drive to Lake Chamo and take a boat ride. On the lake, you will see wild crocodiles, various birds, monkeys, baboons, and some nomadic tribes living around the lake, as well as ancient villages. In the afternoon, we will drive to Dorze Village, famous for its unique dance style, traditional clothing, musical instruments, and distinctive house construction (the roofs resemble human faces). They are also skilled in weaving and metalwork. In the evening, we will return to Arbaminch. Overnight: Arbaminch.

Day Seven: fly back to Addis Ababa

In the morning, after having breakfast, we will fly to Addis Ababa.
During the afternoon, you will explore the city and have enough time for shopping.
In the evening, you will have a farewell dinner at one of the traditional Ethiopian restaurants.

Day Eight: Fly back to Home

Depending on your international flight time, we will transfer you to the airport. The tour will conclude on this day..

A detailed travel agreement will be sent after registration, and guests are kindly requested to read and sign the contract.
